Pilgangoora opens Australia's first mine-site lithium mid-stream plant
PLS opened a demonstration plant at Pilgangoora designed to use electric calcination to convert spodumene concentrate into lithium phosphate at the mine site.

The trial adds process operations, electrical, controls, laboratory and maintenance interfaces to a conventional lithium mine-and-concentrator workforce. PLS says the plant is designed for about 27,000 tonnes of concentrate and 3,000 tonnes of lithium phosphate a year once fully operational.
